A Democratic Missouri state senator representing parts of Ferguson who tweeted multiple times “fuck you,” at Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon defended her choice of words on Fox News Monday saying she did so because she was tear-gassed for three days.

“The reason why I used profane language is because he has allowed us to get tear-gassed for three days,” Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal said. “I am one of his senators in his party and he was at the state fair enjoying a country concert while we were getting teargassed and shot at. And yes, anyone who’s going to get teargassed deserves to say a few ‘F’ bombs here and there.”

“I represent my constituents, not Gov. Nixon,” the senator said. “He has been absent from the minority community his entire career and only comes before us when it is politically expedient for him. Or when he’s running for office, and because he has been outside of this community…let me tell you this, and this is important for your audience to know. He has still yet to come to ground zero. Yet to come to ground zero. He’s been in Florissant, he’s been in Normandy, but he has not spoken to the victims of the crisis we are dealing with and that is why I have called him a coward.”

Ryo Oyamada, a 24 year old student from Japan, was struck and killed by an NYPD vehicle in a hit & run.  Witnesses say the police car had no lights or sirens on and was going over 70 mph.  The released footage by NYPD was proven to be heavily altered in a cover-up, showing “lights” on the vehicle, when compared to footage from the NY Housing Authority on the same street with the same timestamp.

On a personal note: I know that this will probably not be shared or reblogged very much, because Asians are not very prominent in American culture.  I understand this, because Asians (like me) are partially at fault for being so passive.  But I am begging you to please consider signing this petition out of human decency.  Ryo was just a student walking home, then struck by a nearly silent police cruiser going at excess speed, and the NYPD covered it up.

Here is the side-by-side comparison of the released video footage, including updates from the case.  *Edit*  This article contains a link to a graphic video moments after the crash, showing the body of Ryo Oyamada and NY citizens yelling at the police.  Please advise, it is highly disturbing.

And the following is an excerpt from the petition, which as of now only has 286 signatures.

Govard Bidloo’s Anatomia corporis humani, first published in Latin in 1685, is one of the most famous early modern anatomical atlases.  The beautifully rendered illustrations by artist Gerard de Lairesse are notable in how they differ from previous conventions of anatomical illustration.  While the dissected figures seen in the works of Italian anatomists such as Vesalius and Casserius posed in lifelike positions, de Lairesse depicted the corpses as the dead bodies they were, and sometimes even included the various pins and clamps used in the dissection process.

De Lairesse’s illustrations later appeared in William Cowper’s Anatomy of Humane Bodies, published in 1698.  Cowper added his own text and some decorative flourishes, but never acknowledged Bidloo’s work.  Unsurprisingly, this proved to be a sore point for Bidloo, and he went on to launch an attack against Cowper in his Gulielmus Cowper, criminalis literari citatus, coram tribunali.

The Becker Library holds a 1734 Dutch translation of Bidloo’s publication (shown here) as well as 18th editions of Cowper’s Anatomy.

Ferguson Police conveniently forgot to publicly release this part of the footage.

It shows Michael Brown paying for the pack of cigars he supposedly stole.

The officer who murdered Michael did not know he was a ‘suspect of a robbery’, so the tape of him ‘stealing’ the cigars have no relation to the killing.

But this footage is important because it proves that the police are trying to justify Mike’s murder by slandering his character.

Important!
